Aimee Joy Nitzberg :

Founder :

I am amazed at how deeply and infinitely yoga continues to affect me in my daily life.  Teaching is a way for me to honor the gifts I receive from yoga practice, by sharing it with more people.  My hope is to inspire others to practice consistently, and to cultivate a practice which focuses deeply on self-inquiry and knowledge, and to practice with joy and love.

My yoga journey began with Bikram Yoga, then Ashtanga Vinyasa, as well as Classical Yoga.  Over the years, these different methods and many other influences evolved into a love affair for Vinyasa Flow and Yin Yoga. The teachers who have affected me the most are Dharma Mittra, Richard Freeman and most recently, Ram Dass.  I’ve been teaching since 2000, and have opened and operated several studios over the years.  My first opened in early 2001 with Kelley Walsh-Lyons in Burlington, VT.  I was also an owner and teacher for five years at Village Yoga, Soquel and Santa Cruz, from 2003 – 2008.  In 2011, I launched Pleasure Point Yoga with a mission to serve our neighborhood with yoga for health and happiness.  It is such a blessing to share my love and passion for yoga with such a beautiful community and so many gifted teachers here (where I grew up) in Santa Cruz!
